Job Description

Develop and maintain environmental, health, and safety (EHS) procedures in accordance with local, state, federal and corporate program requirements
Implement and maintain emergency response, hazardous materials, and hazardous waste management programs that meet regulatory compliance requirements.
Implement EHS management system, including local regulatory requirements.
Engage safety initiatives to eliminate or control safety hazards and reduce the risk of injury or chemical release.
Manage the employee safety training program, including developing and delivering training curricula.
Engage site safety committees to ensure effectiveness.


Master's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field of study plus 3 years of environmental, health, safety or related experience. Employer also accepts a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience as an equivalent alternative.

Must have experience or knowledge of:

Safety instructor skills;
Emergency response team coordination skills;
Certification in hazardous waste generator regulations;
Department of Transportation dangerous goods certification;
Knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations, including EPA, OSHA, air quality management rules and regulations, and fire department hazardous materials codes;
Safety inspection or auditing skills;
Workplace incident investigations, root cause analysis methodologies, and workers' compensation programs; and
Creating job hazard analyses.
