Working with an interdisciplinary team of basic scientists and in collaboration with other UCLA laboratories, we are seeking to fill postdoctoral scholar positions for a funded project investigating the role of astrocytes in pathogenesis of TBI. The study will involve numerous transgenic mouse lines for targeting astrocytes and using in vivo 2-photon calcium imaging and electrophysiology, resting state fMRI, transcriptomic analyses, and behavioral testing.

Positions are available immediately and candidates that have either neuroscience, engineering or physics-related Ph.D. or M.D. backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The candidate will ideally possess or at minimum have the motivation to learn brain surgical techniques and behavioral testing, and/or will have the ability to perform signal processing of data using Matlab, Python or R. In addition, the candidate will have significant research experience that has led to publications in quality, peer-reviewed journals and very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

To apply, send cover letter, curriculum vitae including the names of three references, and a personal statement of research to ngharris@ucla.edu
