Systems Vaccinology Position:

The ideal individual will bring a basic research program that applies tools drawn from systems biology and is focused on fundamental aspects of immunology or microbial pathogenesis, with a special interest in translating basic discoveries to improvements in vaccines for children. The investigator will work closely with the members of our NIH-funded Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU), with opportunities to participate in clinical trials of novel vaccines and to translate insights with model systems to humans.

Areas of interest include but are not limited to the following:

  • Investigation of the B cell repertoire in response to vaccines or infectious challenge
  • Use of multiple ‘omics’ platforms to define innate immune responses that are predictive of adaptive responses to vaccination or infection
  • Studies of the impact of the microbiome on infection and immune responses

Microbial Pathogenesis Position:

We seek an outstanding investigator working on basic aspects of microbial pathogenesis. Individuals working on pathogens relevant to childhood infections or vaccine priorities are preferred. The ideal individual will bring a laboratory-based research program and interact closely with existing laboratories working on microbial pathogenesis and immune responses.

Areas of interest include but are not limited to the following:

  • Influenza biology and pathogenesis
  • Respiratory syncytial virus pathogenesis
