Position Summary

Our multi-disciplinary team is looking for a self-motivated member in the research and development of the next generation of chromatography columns. Our work exists at the intersection of biochemistry, analytical chemistry and separation science.

As a Chemist in our chromatography consumable business, you will interact closely with other scientists and product marketing as we brainstorm and tackle complex problems in order to introduce new and improved products. Our collaborative team of scientists thrives on creativity and innovation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Research and development of the next generation of chromatography columns for small molecule separations used in pharmaceutical, environmental, food & beverage industryConduct chromatography evaluation for R&D projects on chromatography consumables with the goal of developing chromatography consumables for small molecule separations and large bio-molecule separations, such as proteins, peptides, glycans, and oligonucleotidesPlan and design evaluation platform for new product development with the aim of assessing prototype analytical performancesGenerate high quality collaterals that promote the scientific capabilities of the new products, including application notes, technical notes, scientific content for technical guides, posters, peer reviewed journal articles and presentationsEvaluate new technologies from research institutions, aiming to enhance future products

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or a closely related field focusing on liquid chromatography separation, and 5+ years of related experienceOr a Master's degree in chemistry, or a closely related field focusing on liquid chromatography separation, and 3+ years of experienceor a Doctoral degree (Ph.D) in chemistry, or a closely related field focusing on liquid chromatography separationStrong knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and standards in analytical chemistry and separation science is requiredStrong practical experience and understanding of HPLC and associated sample preparation techniques is requiredPrior experience in small molecule, protein, and petide analysis using HPLC is requiredAbility to prepare reports, protocols, product transfer documents and scientific papers and to present complex content across functional areas.Ability to maintain detailed records of all work carried out which are maintained as the intellectual property of the company, is requiredExcellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, and power point is requiredExpertise in developing RP, HILIC, SEC, IEC and HIC modes of analytical column is desiredAbility to analyze complex data sets and apply in-depth specialty knowledge, creativity and judgment to resolve a variety of complex problems is desiredAbility to actively contribute ideas to new products and knowledge of Intellectual Property basics is desired
