Postdoctoral Scholar

The Department of Pathology at The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine seeks candidates for multiple Postdoctoral Scholar positions in the laboratory of Bing-Hua Jiang, Ph.D. 

Our research focus is to identify novel signaling pathways and mechanisms that regulate cancer initiation, angiogenesis, development, drug resistance, as well as new therapeutic approaches. Our group initially discovered that PI3K signaling pathway, ROS and miRNAs play important roles in tumor angiogenesis and drug resistance.  Please refer to our work in Cancer Res. 67(22):10823, 2007; EMBO Rep. 13(12):1116, 2012; Autophagy 11(2):373, 2015; Oncogene 34(43):5482, 2015). Applicants should have a strong background in molecular biology, as well as experience with both tissue culture and mouse based models. The selected candidate will be expected to work independently while interacting in a highly collaborative environment. 

Education requirements:  PhD or MD/PhD 

Required qualifications:   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.  Experience in molecular biology. 

Desirable qualifications:  Experience developing and analyzing cell-based and mouse models: experience with sterile tissue culture; experience with DNA, RNA, and protein analysis; experience with immunostaining.
