The Logistics Supervisor is part of the Operations Staff and reports direct to the Operations Manager. The Supervisor is responsible for the team , processes, performance and continuous improvement in these areas. The Supervisor is responsible to manage the movement of material through the production cycle. They are responsible for maintaining inventory levels to meet demand, as well as oversees purchasing and the shipping and receiving process. The team consists of Purchasing, Shipping, and Order Desk professionals.

Duties and responsibilities
The following responsibilities are relevant in this role;

    Manages critical long lead purchase parts and ensure delivery of goods and services are in accordance with needs.Responsible for releasing production orders to manufacturing to keep on the schedule of the build plan.Manages purchasing activities with engineering and manufacture departments to ensure that material in the supply chain are available as scheduled and inventory are maintained at minimum acceptance levels.Responsible for month end processing being complete. Posting all labor and materials for completed production orders.
  • Manages Active Supplier List (ASL) and Critical Long Lead parts list.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of variances on weekly cycle counts.
  • Tracks and monitors department KPI's and resolves any process issues.
  • Will support strategic programs for sourcing, cost reduction, and supplier auditing.
  • They are responsible for delegating tasks to subordinates and overseeing the completion of these task.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following combination of education and experience:
  • 3-5 years' experience as a people manager.
  • University or Bachelor degree is preferred or 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong abilities in logistics planning, management and project management.
  • Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with key strengths in initiative, dependability and teamwork.
  • High attention to detail, demonstrating reliability.
  • Able to re-set priorities as corporate objectives change.
  • Strong Computer Skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & MRP Databases.
