Microbiology and Immunology Faculty Positions

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Vaccine Center at Thomas Jefferson University seek applications for research-intensive tenure-track Faculty positions at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to complement a group of highly interactive faculty members with broad expertise in basic immunology, microbial pathogenesis, host-virus interaction and vaccine development. Priority will be given to candidates with a strong publication record and interests in vaccines and immunotherapies for infectious diseases and cancer. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, basic aspects of the immune response, mechanisms of vaccine protection, systems biology, and/or the development of novel adjuvants, vaccines or immunotherapies. Integration into interdisciplinary and translational research programs will be required. The successful candidates will receive a generous start-up package and a salary commensurate with their rank and experience. Candidates for Associate or Full Professor positions should provide evidence of successfully leading a research group and a strong record of extramural funding. The Microbiology and Immunology Department is affiliated with the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, which supports state-of-the-art central facilities such as flow cytometry, X-ray crystallography, genomics, cell and animal bio imaging. Biosafety facilities to accommodate studies with mouse and human pathogens are available.

Thomas Jefferson University is located in Center City Philadelphia, adjacent to a variety of historical, cultural and entertainment attractions.
