The Department of Physiology and Neurobiology is seeking a University Postdoctoral Fellow to participate in projects involved in understanding nuclear receptor and non-coding RNA mediated control of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic liver diseases, including fatty liver, cholestasis, NASH, and liver fibrosis.  

Minimum Qualifications:  A Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with previous extensive experience in molecular biology and pathophysiology research, including PCR, Southern, Northern, Western, cloning and mapping of constructs, protein expression, and cell culture techniques. Experience in working with genome analysis and metabolomics is a plus.  Demonstrated ability to work independently and take a leading role on assigned projects under the supervision of the PI. The candidate should be highly and self-motivated with a strong desire for career development.  Experience working with mice is essential.  Excellent communication skills are required during the postdoctoral training.

Preferred Qualifications: Word processing, sequence analysis and database searches.  Experience with DNA methylation analysis is an advantage.
