The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position in the Department of Internal Medicine. The successful applicant will be an outstanding independent nutrition research investigator and will also assist the College's role in nutrition-related student, patient and community education.

This research position was established as part of a private foundation grant from the Martin Andersen-Gracia Andersen Foundation. The grant will cover a generous five-year funding package to enable and promote a successful, independent, extramurally-funded research career. The ideal candidate will pursue clinical or basic nutrition-related extramurally-funded research topics aligned with the interests of our current faculty and initiatives, which includes, but is not limited to, gastrointestinal and other inflammatory disorders, integrative medicine, diabetes and other metabolic syndromes. The individual will collaborate with a clinical nutritionist who will also be funded by this grant to advance a college initiative to improve nutritional excellence in medical student curriculum as well as the translation of educational and research efforts.

Position Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree from an accredited school and must demonstrate independent scholarly productivity in nutrition-related research, based on a record of extramural funding and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

UCF is seeking a well-rounded candidate who has demonstrated research excellence and experience participating in nutrition education. The preferred candidate will have scholarly productivity in nutrition-related research, shown in a record of extramural funding and publications in peer-reviewed journals. UCF offers a state-of-the-art research infrastructure that includes well-equipped laboratories, robust core resources, advanced imaging equipment, and extensive small animal facilities.
