Chair – Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at East Tennessee State University seeks an outstanding scholar and administrator for the position of Chair to begin July 2018. The Department is known for its strong teaching record and rapidly growing research effort, with 10 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 7 lecturers and adjunct faculty, and 3 staff members. The chair is expected to foster and promote scholarly productivity and visibility of a diverse and active faculty while supporting innovative and high quality teaching. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry and a proven record of scholarship and teaching appropriate for a tenured position at the full professor level. They should have demonstrated leadership ability, effective communication skills, and a record of successful grantsmanship.
