POSITION SUMMARY: The Biology Department is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology who can teach genetics courses.  This tenure-track Assistant Professor will have yearly teaching responsibilities of an M.S. course in Biomedical Genetics, an undergraduate Genetics and Genomics course, an undergraduate Genetics and Genomics Laboratory, an undergraduate one-hour seminar focused on reading and presenting scientific literature, and a component of a graduate seminar in the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences curriculum. This position will also have rotating teaching responsibilities including an interdisciplinary writing-intensive course in the Regis College Core Curriculum and a biomedical physiology laboratory that is planned and coordinated by another faculty member. Regis College is primarily an undergraduate teaching institution whose faculty members are expected to advise students and participate in the academic governance of the department, college, and university. This position also will help contribute to the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences program by participating in program meetings, working with other faculty members teaching in the program, and advising students.  The successful candidate must include inquiry in any laboratories taught; participate in pedagogical and curricular development in the program, department and college; and maintain active research that involves undergraduate students.  Regis College is a Jesuit, Catholic liberal-arts college in Denver, CO.  Position offered pending final administrative approval.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or equivalent field awarded by August 1, 2017 and research experience in a field relevant to genetics and genomics. The candidate should be enthusiastic about teaching and working with faculty, staff, and students. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated teaching excellence and candidates with the ability to teach in Spanish to possibly allow involvement in a future biology course or courses to be taught in Spanish.
