Location: Delta-Abbotsford

Reporting to
the Regional Business Manager, Western Canada – CABU, the Account Manager (AM)
is responsible for achieving the annual sales and business objectives within
his/her territory by coordinating the development, implementation and
monitoring of the Territory Tactical Plans, ensuring alignment with Regional
and National Business unit objectives.

The AM is
responsible for understanding the customer needs and communicating accurate and
complete product information through on-going calls on targeted companion
animal veterinarians with the goal of increasing sales and market penetration in
the territory. This also includes conducting CE meetings, attending product and
sales training, and participating in conferences and conventions.

The AM
identifies networks and develops strong working relationships with key
customers including Key Opinion Leaders, Community advocacy within his/her
geography. The Account Manager will complete his/her tasks in a manner fully
consistent with Merck's commitment to our Values and Standards, policies,
procedures, industry standards and all laws and regulations.

The AM
optimizes business potential in the territory through effective analysis,
planning, implementation and organization of work. The AM manages territory
data through CRM and / or other relevant territory management tools. There are
other administrative duties which include weekly reports, expense reports and
requests from clients.


- Bachelor
degree, Science Degree
- Minimum
2 years of pharmaceutical sales experience in the Animal Health Industry
- Thorough
understanding of the Animal Health Industry
- Solid
knowledge of products, disease, competition, industry
- Proficiency
in office technology and related software
- Communication
skills (both oral and written)
- Presentation
and facilitation skills
- Negotiation
- Self-starter
with a broad range of People, Business, and Strategic skills
- Strong
knowledge of Merck policies, procedures, industry standards and laws and
- A
valid driver’s license is required
- Language:
English (French is an asset)
