Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)
Expertise in the following areas, but not limited to: mammalian cell culture, molecular and cell biology techniques (DNA cloning, RT-PCR, PCR), mouse handling (transgenic and xenograft models), protein analysis (immunoblotting, protein-protein interactions), confocal microscopy, quantitative image analysis, invasion, migration assay and multi-color flow cytometry, cell viability assays (MTT).
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator (Luis Martinez, Phd) in the Department of Pathology. The incumbent must possess a strong work ethic, scientific creativity and strong written and verbal communication skills. The laboratory is focused on understanding how the mutated form of p53 functions as an oncogene.
Projects include, dissecting the mechanisms underlying the oncogenic activity of mutant p53; Analyze functional crosstalk between mutant p53 and Ras; Genetic analysis of mutant p53 network.
Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols.
Develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures.
Publish results in scientific journals and participate in research meetings.
