Call for Senior Postdoctoral Fellow in Machine Learning
We are searching for candidates for one (senior) postdoctoral position in data science at Simula Research Laboratory, Norway. The position is part of a recently established strategic initiative addressing data science with emphasis on machine learning. The successful candidate will play a vital role in this project and is expected to participate both scientifically and strategically.
Initially, the project is funded for four years, and it is expected to spin out sustainable research activities in the field. The goal is to advance theoretical and methodological framework for complex high dimensional data and systems analysis, while applying the algorithmic solutions to real-life problems in biomedicine, image and video processing, communication systems, and software engineering. At least 3 additional persons at postdoctoral and doctoral levels will be hired in the project, complementing the current research at Simula using data science techniques.
The successful candidate will enjoy an inspiring and resourceful environment, with the possibility of travelling to conferences, visiting other national or international labs, and establishing new collaborations.
Simula Research Laboratory AS is a publicly owned research institution located at Fornebu, just outside the city center of Oslo, the capital of Norway. It is a multi-cultural organization, employing about 150 individuals from 30 countries. Simula is conducting ICT research in the fields of communication technology, scientific computing and software engineering. The main objective is to generate new understanding and create vital knowledge about fundamental scientific challenges that are of genuine value for society. Since 2001, scientific evaluations conducted by the Research Council of Norway has repeatedly placed Simula at the forefront of international research in ICT. The most recent in-depth evaluation was published earlier this year, grading all research groups at Simula as excellent.
