The candidate collaborates at a project entitled: “RNA-mediated intercellular miscommunication: role of extracellular vesicle cargos in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis” that has been recently funded by the Marie Curie Actions, European Commission. The major focus of the project is on extracellular vesicles and motor neuron degeneration with a particular interest on the role of RNA in the glia-motoneuronal intercellular communication. The PhD student will acquire expertise on extracellular vesicles analysis, RNA profiling in the field of neurodegeneration.
As part of the team, the candidate will design, conduct and analyze experiments and experimental data, develop new ideas that promote current research, prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under direction of principal investigator, teach techniques to others, and may be responsible for the operation of specific equipment.
Applicants must hold an MS degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar. Experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, RNA analysis and cell culture techniques would be relevant in the evaluation of the candidate profile. Experience in cytofluorimetry will be a plus
Organized, reliable and ambitious with a pro-active attitude. The PhD student will work in a team, therefore proficiency in written and oral English is requested.
