The social dimension of Industry 4.0.: technological change and its consequences on work
The project will investigate: a) the changes in working conditions and work performances due to the processes currently termed Industry 4.0.; b) the representations of the current innovations diffused among workers; c) the consequences of these innovation processes on the relations (solidarity and collective action vs. competition) among workers; d) the workers' propensity to collective action and unionization.
The research will be carried out, first, through an extensive review of the existing materials (literature, scientific researches, reports by public and private institutions, data bases). Second, a fieldwork will be carried out based on the individuation of significant case studies.
The firms in which the case studies will be carried out will be selected in three Italian regions in which these technological innovation processes are diffused: Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany
