A Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Peter Sims at Columbia University Medical Center in the Dept. of Systems Biology. The Sims Lab develops and applies new tools for genome- and transcriptome-wide analysis of individual cells using cutting-edge microscopy, microfabrication, and next-generation sequencing. There are multiple recently funded projects available, particularly involving the use of single cell RNA-Seq to investigate the molecular evolution and microenvironments of brain tumors as well as tissue-resident immune populations in healthy organs. We are located in the Lasker Biomedical Research Building, a newly renovated, highly collaborative, and interdisciplinary research environment on Columbia’s medical campus in New York City.
Candidates must be highly motivated Ph.D.-level scientists. Backgrounds in biology, chemistry, engineering, and/or physics are all welcome. Expertise or experience in next-generation sequencing, computational biology, bioinformatics, microscopy, and/or microfluidics is highly desirable, but not essential. If you are interested, please email Dr. Sims directly and include a CV.
