Academic Surgical Pathologist--Assistant Professor, Academic Clinician Track (non-Tenure)
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track.
The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Surgical Pathology with a focus on Gastrointestinal Tract Pathology. Candidates with fellowship training in GI pathology will be highly considered. Responsibilities include sign out in the subspecialized Surgical Pathology section including frozen section coverage at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and its affiliates. Participation in a broad spectrum of intra and inter departmental teaching activities including pathology house-staff and fellows, and medical student teaching is expected.
Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (and/or AP/CP) from the American Board of Pathology and an unrestricted PA medical license/eligibility are requisites.
While some evidence of scholarship is necessary, research is not essential in the AC track.
Rank will be commensurate with experience.
