The general objective of this project is to establish the role of TRP (Transien Receptor Potential) channels regulating Ca2+ signature through a complete screening of TRP ion channels expressed by Prostate Cancer (PCa) cells and Prostate cancer vasculature at different tumor stages, and evaluate their role in prostate cancer progression and vascularization. Specific objectives: the experimental workplan is articulated in three Workpackages (WP) and corresponding Tasks largely interconnected. The WP proposed are as follows: WP1. Prostate Cancer Vascular Candidates cellular function. The WP will aim to finalize the “PCa vascular canditates” signature in terms of cellular function and in vivo role in order to understand the mechanisms by which TRP channels control PCa angiogenesis. WP2. Screening of ion channels in clinical PCa samples and protein expression validation.
