DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED BIOLOGY AND CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY

Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Cell Biology / Nutrition / Immunology / Microbiology (several posts)

 

The appointees will be required to (a) conduct lectures, practical sessions and tutorials at taught master’s and undergraduate levels in various disciplines of Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Physiology, Food and Nutrition, Immunology, Microbiology and/or related disciplines; (b) supervise MPhil and PhD students; (c) establish a vigorous research programme at the cutting edge of biotechnology,  biochemistry, cell biology, food and nutrition, immunology, microbiology, and engage in other scholarly activities; and (d) contribute to departmental and programme administration as well as curriculum development.

 

 

Applicants should (a) have a PhD degree in the field of Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Food and Nutrition,  Immunology, Microbiology or related disciplines; (b) have relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and research; (c) have an excellent publication record in peer-reviewed international journals, especially in the areas of biotechnology, biochemistry, food and nutrition as well as other disciplines of biology; (d) be highly motivated and possess creative talents to develop and apply the state-of-the-art techniques in the areas of Immunology to investigate biomedical problems that are critical to the health of humans and/or domestic animals; (e) have an established track record in obtaining external funding/research grants; and (f) be able to demonstrate evidence of possession of effective classroom teaching skills.   

 

Preference will be given to those who have an undergraduate degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Physiology, Pharmacology or related disciplines.

 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
