Job Description

Position Summary
The primary duties of the Manufacturing Engineer is, working closely with the research and development organization, will create and document manual and automated manufacturing processes. Additional responsibilities will include design of manufacturing processes and tooling.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Create and document manual and automated manufacturing processes.
  • Processes will include wafer probe, wafer dicing, pick and place, epoxy dispense, die attach, wire bonding, seam sealing, and functional test procedures.
  • Will specify new semiconductor assembly/test equipment as well as creation, documentation, and implementation of new processes for electro-mechanical product manufacture.



Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements

    BS degree in manufacturing engineering or other suitable technical curriculum plus 5 years related experience.Experience in creation, modification, validation, verification, and implementation of written assembly and test processes.Experience in creation of mechanical/electrical assembly and test fixtures.Experience in use of 3-D modeling software, e.g. SolidWorks.Experience in use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Resource Planning (MRP), and/or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is a plus.
    Knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes a plus.Knowledge of electronic assembly acceptability standards, e.g. IPC-A-610.Knowledge of cable and wire harness acceptability standards, e.g. IPC-A-620.Knowledge of Electro Static Discharge (ESD) theory and prevention methods, e.g. ANSI/ESD S20.20.Knowledge of high vacuum and/or DI water systems.Ability to work independently to achieve established project goals.Effective oral and written communication, planning, and organization skills.Strong problem solving ability
