3-YEAR POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN PARIS
A Post-doctoral Position, awarded by The Fondation pour La Recherche Médicale (FRM), is immediately available at the INSERM-UPMC (University Pierre & Marie Curie)-Paris VI, Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière, in a dynamic research group highly interested in cardiac cell membrane expression of ion channels. The lab is localized in center Paris (http://www.insermu1166.fr/fr/accueil/).
The Project: Our group is conducting fundamental research to characterize the development and electrophysiological consequences of cardiac heterogeneity at the molecular, cellular and tissue levels, in the context of cardiac arrhythmias. Many research aspects are currently investigated, such as the roles of protein partners specialized in the anchoring and the targeting of ion channels (Circ Res. 2016, 119(4):544-56) and the role of vesicle trafficking in the control of ion channels in the cell membrane (PNAS 2009 25;106(34):14681-6, PNAS 2013; 8;110(41):E3955-64).
The successful candidate will be a skillful and extremely motivated scientist with a PhD. She/he must have a strong expertise in molecular biology, but must deal easily with biochemistry of membrane proteins and cell biology. The applicant will be involved in collaborations with other teams in Paris (Curie Institute) and must show a high motivation to interdisciplinary work. She/he may also possess knowledge and experience of another excitable tissue than the heart. She/he will have the opportunity to use different type of imagery tools such as confocal, 3-D deconvolution and TIRF microscopes and run videomicroscopy to follow intracellular trafficking of ion channels and partners in real time.
Applications, including a curriculum vitae and contact details for at least two references should be sent by e-mail to: email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
