Our research unit is made up of 6 internationally recognized research teams for a total of about 180 members and students wich provide an outstanding environment for clinical, translational and basic research. Our research unit is located in Paris at La Pitié Salpétrière Hospital, the largest hospital in Europe. Head of unit : Stéphane Hatem.


Our complementary interests include genetics, genomics, molecular and cellular biology, physiology and pharmacology to bear upon cardiovascular diseases.


All our teams have access to unique housed technological core facilities dedicated to preclinical cardiovascular and metabolical exploration : cellular and clinical imaging, animal core facilities, lipidomic, metabolomic, flow cytometry, post genomic platforms, stem cells and progenitors, L1 and L2 containment laboratories.


Our research unit is funded by the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) and the Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC). Our research laboratory is part of one of the six translational research institutes created in France in 2011. The aim of this institute is to foster the transfer of research knowledge from academic to clinic and industry (IHU Ican : http://www.ican-institute.org/).
