Applications are invited for a Research Scientist position in either the basic or clinical sciences in affiliation with the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHS). We are seeking outstanding investigators at any career level who have, or show great promise in developing, dynamic research programs in the biomedical sciences. In particular, ideal applicants will have expertise and research interests in areas such as audiology, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, diseases of aging including cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease, diabetes, cancer, and musculo-skeletal injury or disease.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, a minimum of three years of postdoctoral experience or equivalent, and an excellent publication record. Selected candidates will be expected to participate in the growth and development of research at VALLHS, and will be encouraged to obtain academic appointments at any one of several nearby academic institutions. While appointments will be made through the VALLHS non-profit affiliate LLVARE (Loma Linda Veterans Association for Research & Education), preference will be given to those who are eligible for VA Career Development and Merit Review Awards.
