The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks to fill the position of Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure earning). This position is aligned with the goals of the Department to have a focus on research into chronic pain and related conditions. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD degree and have demonstrated excellence in pain research. Areas of research may include but are not limited to the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the development of pathologic pain, biological processes for pain and sensory signals, spinal cord and brain pain circuits, mouse genetics of pain research and psychological processes associated with pain.  Applicants should have established research programs and current extramural support. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
