Team Leader (indefinite-term researcher in management position)
3. Research area:
Research and development of advanced data acquisition and processing for next generation photon sources
Advances in synchrotron radiation and X-ray free-electron laser sources require high performance X-ray detectors with high repetition rate, high intensity, and high precision capabilities, and also an associated huge data processing technology. In anticipation of a diffraction-limited storage ring and a storage ring based X-ray free-electron laser, which are anticipated to be built in the 2020s and 2040s, respectively, the performance of detectors and processing technology are expected to advance further. RIKEN is looking for a team leader in this field with world-class expertise in state-of-the-art semiconductor and very-large-scale integrated circuit technologies with a deep knowledge of X-ray detection physics and an eye for practical application.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the area described above and work as a team leader in the RIKEN SPring-8 Center (http://www.riken.jp/en/research/labs/rsc/).
We are seeking applicants who have extensive experience in the development of X-ray imaging detectors with excellent research and development achievements.
