Full Researcher / Professor Cancer Genetics
The Division of Cancer Biology at the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated, Full Researcher/Professor who is conducting cutting-edge basic and translational research in Cancer Genetics to join a growing team of diverse and dynamic researchers devoted to conduct Cancer Biology Research as well as the development of novel and effective therapeutics for cancer. The position is part of the on-going recruitment effort in the area of Cancer Genetics in alignment with our strategic vision to develop a robust Genetics Program. Appointees will be expected to develop independent and collaborative grant-funded research programs, and will have a research program in cancer genetics focusing in cell and developmental biology, DNA repair, human and mouse cancer genetics and genomics. Outstanding candidates, with proven track record for scientific excellence, at any of these levels or working at the interface of some are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree.
The ideal candidate will be driven by biological questions in cancer genetics. The candidate should have a strong background in cancer genetics/epigenetics and should be familiar with a variety of experiment methods that she/he can use to address major questions in the field. This person should have a track-record of high-impact publications and should be able to demonstrate that they have led independent research projects that can be used to establish a research program and apply for successful extramural funding. Academic rank will be provided by the University of Puerto Rico Cancer Institute and opportunity for clinical appointment and practice will be available at the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center Hospital.
