Faculty Position in Microbiome Research

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, is seeking to recruit an exceptional candidate to develop and sustain an internationally recognised research program that will investigate the influence of the microbiome in health and disease. The studied interactions between microbe and host can be pathogenic, commensal, or beneficial in nature, and may emphasize any relevant host system. An appointment can be made at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine, with research in the fields of Immunology, Virology, Bacteriology, and Parasitology. We have a distinguished history of accomplishments in Microbiology and Immunology research and an excellent international team of researchers in a vibrant academic community. The successful candidate will have a PhD, MD (or equivalent medical degree), or MD/PhD, and an outstanding track record in research. Candidates for Assistant Professor will have strong postdoctoral records and evidence of their potential for development of an independent, cutting edge research programme. Candidates will have an interest in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates for Associate or Full Professor will have a successful research programme with demonstrated ability to compete for grant funding, as well as strong abilities in teaching.

The compensation package is internationally competitive. In addition to salary, performance bonuses are payable for excellence in research, teaching and service, subject to annual review. Subject to certain criteria being met, a specialist allowance is applicable to clinically qualified appointees. The successful candidates can expect a generous startup package and first class laboratory and core facilities.
