Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral/research associate position in cell biology or cancer immunology in the laboratory of Dr. Zhuoli Zhang at Northwestern University, Chicago. Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on novel image-guided cancer immunotherapy including natural killer and dendritic cell-based immunotherapy, image-guided small molecular inhibitor and antibody immunotherapy, image-guided combination therapies of local ablation and targeted immunotherapy, image-guided drug delivery for cancer. The successful candidate will work on transgenic mouse pancreatic cancer tumor models to optimize and develop novel image-guided immunotherapy approaches.

Facilities: All studies including cell/molecular biology and cancer immunology will be conducted at Dr. Zhang’s Translational Imaging Lab, our collaborators’ labs and facilities of Northwestern University. Imaging studies will be conducted at the Center for Translational Imaging (CTI,, equipped with a 7T Bruker ClinScan system using the clinical Siemens Syngo platform and a Mediso NanoScan PET/CT. Dr. Zhang’s translational imaging laboratory at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center has all the state-of-the art equipment for cancer research.

Candidate profile: The candidate should have a MD or PhD in cell/molecular biology or cancer immunology or a related field, and demonstrated experience with transgenic pancreatic cancer mouse model. He/she should be highly motivated, creative, and willing to collaborate with people having different backgrounds. The following qualifications are requested:

  • Prior research experience or training in working with transgenic animal models of pancreas cancer is necessary.
  • Ideal candidate must be motivated, has excellent writing skills and related publication records.
  • Specific experience in dendritic cell based cancer therapy is highly desirable.
