Tenure Track Assistant Professor - Microbiologist | Immunologist
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. with at least two years of postdoctoral research experience and have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. She/he will be expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research laboratory in any area of immune responses and/or the study of microorganisms that cause disease using cellular, molecular, genetics approaches. Research expertise in an area such as host-pathogen interactions, pathogenesis, disease progression, immunology, mycology, or viral replication or pathogenesis is of particular interest. Laboratory and start-up resources commensurate with research expectations are included. Applicants pursuing research that complements departmental strengths in cell/molecular biology, evolutionary biology, and neurosciences are preferred. Strong consideration will be given to applicants who may contribute to the collaborative environment within the department and/or university programs including bioengineering, and the campus-wide health initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and Ph.D. programs within her/his area of expertise.
