Assistant or Associate Professor in Immunology (Tenure Track)
The Division of Immunology of the Department of Microbiology & Immunobiology at Harvard Medical School (http://immdiv.hms.harvard.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek an outstanding scientist addressing fundamental or translational questions in immunology. We are particularly interested in candidates who value a highly collaborative and interactive approach to research.
This position offers outstanding scholarly and scientific resources in a collegial and collaborative department. There are exceptionally strong ties to related departments throughout Harvard University, the Harvard affiliated teaching hospitals and the Boston immunology community. The position provides the opportunity to engage a vibrant community of immunologists at Harvard Medical School interested in molecular and quantitative approaches to basic immunological diseases, and the development of immunotherapies.
The successful candidate will hold a primary faculty appointment in the Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology, with research space located in a modern research building at Harvard Medical School. The successful candidate will also be a member of the Evergrande Center for Immunologic Diseases at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (http://evergrande.hms.harvard.edu), which comprises both basic and translational research programs focused on chronic inflammation underlying autoimmune, neurologic, and metabolic diseases, and the environmental factors that trigger chronic inflammation.
The position also offers the opportunity to teach exceptional graduate and medical students with strong interests in immunology/microbiology. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or an equivalent doctoral degree, and evidence of a creative, collegial and exceptional research track record.
