Prometheus, the division of Skeletal Tissue Engineering (TE) of the KU Leuven, is an interdisciplinary platform focusing on skeletal TE research and technology transfer ( The division's mission and focus is the development of consistent and clinically relevant TE concepts for skeletal regeneration. Research within this division is translational combining cutting edge developments in research tracks ranging from stem cell biology and nanotechnology to scaffold and bioreactor design, preclinical and clinical studies. The Prometheus platform consists of more than 50 enthusiastic people working in the field of skeletal tissue engineering and technology transfer.

- Creating and identifying valorization opportunities; taking a leading role in the valorization of the research output (patents, spin-offs, ...);

- Initiating and negotiating bilateral research projects;

- The exploration of new funding options and taking a leading role in writing valorization aspects of new interdisciplinary grants, with specific focus on H2020 and translational funding;

- Supporting the individual researchers and interdisciplinary teams towards valorization trajectories;

- The coordination of several running integrated projects on cartilage and bone engineering;

- Management and further expansion of the industrial interactions/partnerships of Prometheus;

- The promotion of the Prometheus platform at conferences, networking meetings, on-site company visits and the management of the Prometheus website.

The Industrial Research Manager will work directly with the Prometheus steering committee, and will communicate and justify activities to the Prometheus board of directors and Prometheus management committee.
