Post-doctoral scholar or staff scientist in Bioinformatics/Computational Immunology
A postdoctoral scholar or research associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kari Nadeau at the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University (http://med.stanford.edu/allergyandasthma). Our major goal is to study and develop novel approaches for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of allergies, asthma and other respiratory diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated computational scientist to extend our team of medical, immunological and bioinformatics researchers.
Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. with a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biostatistics.
Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and programming experience is required. Applicants must possess good communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English. A background in immunology or medicine will be a strong plus.
Prior experience with clinical trials, high-throughput approaches, biological databases, and especially immunological (e.g. flow cytometry and CyTOF) data sets is a plus.
This exciting work will be guided by multidisciplinary collaborations with top scientists in immunology, genetics, bioinformatics and translational research at Stanford University.
The experience level and career interests of the individual will determine whether the candidate is hired as a postdoctoral scholar or staff scientist.
