Cancer Therapeutics – Molecular Pharmacology and Systems Biology
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Skaggs Pharmacy Institute, in partnership with the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor.
We are searching for talented investigators with the potential to develop outstanding research programs in the general areas of molecular pharmacology or systems biology.
Other research areas of interest include development of precision medicine approaches or cancer therapeutic discovery programs.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will work closely with translational cancer researchers and have dual appointments in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and in the Division of Medical Oncology.
The position is part of the Utah Science, Technology, and Research Initiative (USTAR), which was funded by the Utah Legislature to attract focused teams of outstanding researchers who have the potential to build major fundamental research programs that will lead to the commercialization of new technologies and/or build new industries for Utah.
The USTAR Cancer Therapeutics Cluster will address key gaps in advancing oncotherapeutics through the combination of University of Utah Health Science’s current expertise in cancer clinical care, cancer genetics and genomics, computationally directed drug development, medicinal chemistry, and early phase clinical trials in oncotherapeutics.
