Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
The Legacy Research Institute in Portland, Oregon, has openings for two Postdoctoral Research Fellows to develop a gene therapy to combat cancer by reconstructing metabolic homeostasis. One position is available immediately, the second position in August 2016. The project is supported by specimen from the Legacy Tumor Bank and involves studies with in vitro and in vivo cancer models. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, team-oriented and expanding research group at the Legacy Research Institute and participate at all levels of the project, including data acquisition, analysis, and scholarly writing. The project is funded through a philanthropic grant and is initially available for a three-year commitment.
Requirements: PhD/Terminal Degree in molecular genetics and biology, cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a closely related field; Prior expertise with in vitro and/or in vivo cancer models; Proficiency in English Scientific Writing; Excellent communication skills; Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team.
