The Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (IND) seeks to hire a new faculty member with at least three years’ research experience in mouse behavioral analyses, genetic manipulations, and neurophysiology, as well as interest in the biology of neurodegeneration. Expertise in neurodegenerative disorders is encouraged but not essential for consideration. The IND is assembling a cohesive group of independent scientists with an interest in discovering mechanisms of and treatments for degenerative diseases.

UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. Applicants should possess a medical or doctoral degree, and currently hold a faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic research program with NIH funding, interact with other IND faculty members, and participate in graduate training programs. She or he will be eligible for membership in the Program in Biological Sciences (PIBS) and other graduate training programs. The individual will be appointed to the In Residence faculty series in an appropriate academic department, and will be a member of the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases. Exceptionally attractive laboratory space will be in the new Sandler Neuroscience Center building at UCSF’s vibrant Mission Bay campus.
