The Institute for Nutritional Sciences (INS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, located in Shanghai, China, invites applications for Faculty/Group Leader positions at the professor level. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop individual research programs that apply approaches of nutrigenomics, nutrition intervention, nutrient metabolism, nutrition epidemiology, or related fields such as endocrinology and nutrition assessment, to solve nutrition-related health issues. The Institute offers competitive salary, housing benefit, startup funding package, and an excellent research environment.

The expected candidates should have qualifications as follows: (1) expertise in nutrition and related fields of modern medicine with solid training and experience in life sciences; or (2) outstanding research background with strong interest in nutrition-related research with exceptional academic record and potential for obtaining extramural funding.

The Institute for Nutritional Sciences was founded in 2003 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as part of a major drive for achieving scientific excellence in nutrition to benefit human health. The mission of INS is to conduct nutrition-related research and education employing state-of-the-art technologies for advancing the scientific understanding of the relation between nutrition and health to meet the health needs in China. The long-term goal is to satisfy the national interest in reducing nutrition-related diseases to promote human health through multidisciplinary research programs, integrated efforts for prevention and intervention, educational programs for professionals as well as the general public, and close collaboration with institutions and industries in China and other countries.
