Vanderbilt University Medical School is located on the Vanderbilt University campus, and the School consistently ranks in the top 15 of US Medical Schools; it provides an outstanding environment for scholarship, collaboration, and teaching. Opportunities for collaboration exist with a number of major institutes and centers, including VI4 (the Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology, and Inflammation), the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, the Diabetes Research and Training Center, the Vaccine Center, the Center for Arrhythmia Research and Training, the Neuroscience Institute, and the Institute for Chemical Biology.
The Center for Structural Biology is a trans-institutional organization that supports structural biology research, education/training, and outreach across the entire life science and medical research communities. It provides exceptional resources for all experimental and computational structural biology approaches. This appointment will be in the Basic Sciences Division of the Medical School, which houses four academic departments, eight interdisciplinary centers and institutes, twenty-seven service core facilities, and the Office of Biomedical Research, Education, and Training. The selection of department will be based on relevance to the candidate’s research interest (Biochemistry, Cell and Developmental Biology, Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, or Pharmacology).
