Postdoctoral positions in the field of neural control of autonomic function are available at the School of Medicine University of Missouri. The successful individuals will be involved in studying synaptic transmission, neuronal plasticity, and/or ion channel function in brain regions, as well as the involvement of glia and neuron interactions. Individuals will have the opportunity to utilize a wide range of approaches including in vivo and in vitro electrophysiology, opto- and chemo-genetics and immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, immunoblots and microinjection. Selected individuals will join a highly productive and interactive group of NIH-funded investigators to study neural control of the autonomic functions especially the cardiovascular system. Qualifications: PhD in basic or health science or MD some relevant experience in a research environment
Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Neurosciences or related field or MD A strong background in animal physiology, molecular pharmacology and knowledge of brain circuitry relative to the autonomic nervous system Additional expertise in molecular/cellular biology is a plus.
