Postdoctoral Fellow

Overview

A Postdoctoral Scientist is wanted for a malaria vaccine project that is investigating immune responses in clinical trials of attenuated parasite vaccines. It aims to develop a deep understanding of immune responses to vaccination and malaria infection that are associated with immune protection in order to accelerate vaccine development. The project is being conducted in a dynamic multidisciplinary research environment at Seattle Children's Research Institute and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center along with international collaborators and within the NIH HIPC Consortium.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in human immunology and vaccine development and a desire to apply cutting edge technologies to elucidate development of protective immune responses. Expertise in immunology is essential and research experience in cell and molecular biology is beneficial. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to establish clear goals and to organize and prioritize research, and to work with a diverse team of scientists, and able to thrive within a multi-disciplinary environment are important.

Requirements

Position Requirements

Ph.D. or equivalent biomedical degree in immunology, preferably of infectious diseases.

Experience in immunological analyses.

Strong understanding of immune processes, especially if related to vaccine protection.
