The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) is inviting applications for two positions of:

Tenure-track Assistant Professor

at the Department of Biochemistry (DB)

Start date: 01.08.2020 or to be agreed 

Rate of activity: 100% 

Contract Length: 6 years, renewable

Workplace: DB, Epalinges campus of the UNIL

Beautifully situated above Lausanne's city center and overlooking the lake of Geneva, the research campus in Epalinges is dedicated to immunology, infection and oncology and hosts more than 50 research labs in an international and collaborative atmosphere.

The Department of Biochemistry is a highly interactive and multidisciplinary research center performing cutting edge activities in the fields of immunology, inflammation and infection. It has excellent infrastructures and access to state-of-the-art facilities in flow cytometry, microscopy, proteomics, genomics and bioinformatics.

Main tasks tied to the position:

  • Establishing an independent, innovative, and internationally-competitive research program that will attract extramural funding;
  • participation in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
  • participation in departmental activities.

Desired profile:

  • PhD degree,
  • significant post-doctoral experience in immunology,
  • demonstrated excellence in research,
  • interest in teaching.

We seek candidates whose research interests are original and complementary to the Department’s research strengths.
