Blossom Innovations, LLC is a medical device company with a current focus in the Dermatology market space.  Among the founders of Blossom Innovations are Dr. Rox Anderson, Dr. Dieter Manstein, and Dr. Henry Chan from Massachusetts General Hospital and Hong Kong University, who are pioneering researchers in the field of laser dermatology and have a successful track record of serial entrepreneurship. Blossom is working on image-guided therapeutic devices for the treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. As part of its effort to develop a commercial technology, the company is conducting research into novel methods of imaging through scattering media and on machine learning algorithms to identify structures in images to enable therapeutic treatments. Blossom is looking for a qualified Postdoctoral candidate to work on these areas of experimental research in context of the company’s therapeutic goals. The selected industrial Postdoctoral Research Fellow will get an opportunity to conduct research that is integral to the commercialization efforts of the company, while also interacting with top researchers at academic institutions in the Boston area.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in physics, biophysics, or biomedical engineering, with a demonstrated record of publications. The position requires expertise in imaging through scattering tissue, specifically an understanding of optical and/or ultrasound imaging techniques, The candidate should possess strong image-processing skills and preferably experience in machine learning algorithms. The selected candidate will also be responsible for implementation of the imaging schemes into clinical prototypes.
