Postdoctoral Position in Neuronal Mechanisms of Drug Dependence

The Department of Anesthesiology, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is looking for a Post-Doctoral Scientist interested in understanding the neuronal mechanisms underlying drug dependence. The Lab, under the direction of Dr. Jiang-Hong Ye, focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying drugs of abuse (i.e., alcohol, opioids, and cannabinoids). The research utilizes multiple methodologies including molecular, biochemical, morphological, electrophysiological, and behavioral techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for creative, motivated individuals to make seminal contributions early in his/her careers.

EXPERIENCE: Prior work experience in behavioral tests in rodent models of drug dependence or expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology is a plus. The candidate is expected to learn and use new techniques in work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ph. D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, or related field
  2. A minimum of one first author paper published or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal
  3. Relevant background and experience
  4. Creative thinking skills and a predisposition for problem-solving
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with team members
