Applications are being sought for a postdoctoral position (Senior Fellow – UW Job Class 0445) in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA) with an anticipated start in spring 2019.

This will be a full-time, 12-month appointment, and is renewable on a yearly basis.

Main research responsibilities include:

  • Carry out metabolomics and lipidomics studies using UPLC-ion mobility-mass spectrometry and develop new methods
  • Development of high-throughput screening methods using MS
  • Development of MS imaging method for in situ analysis of biological samples

Working environment:

The successful applicant will join a research project at the interface of analytical chemistry and human disease biology. The research is highly interdisciplinary and collaborative, which provides the opportunity to interact with scientists from different fields. Therefore, the individual will have the opportunity to gain training in molecular and cell biology, tissue culture, and/or microbiology techniques.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree in analytical chemistry or related disciplines and are preferred to have extensive experience with QTOF, ion mobility-mass spectrometry (IM-MS), and/or LC-MS/MS instruments. Experience in MS imaging would be a plus, but not required.
