The post-doctoral fellow or research scientist will be engaged in translational projects focused on regulators of growth, survival and drug resistance of breast and other cancers, as well as modulators of their microenvironment, especially immune effectors. The fellow/scientist will use a broad range of approaches (genetic, cell biological and in vivo modeling) to understand how breast cancers, partiularly triple negative breast cancers, resist chemotherapy treatments and metastasize. The projects also examine how anoikis resistance and epithelial-mesenchymal transition contribute to the growth and metastases of triple negative breast cancers. The fellow will utilize patient-derived xenograft models of breast cancer and organoid cultures to screen and validate novel therapeutic strategies. The fellow/scientist will also study how the immune microenvironment regulates response of breast and other cancers to chemotherapy/targeted therapies. Background in cancer cell biology/models, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology required. Experience with animal tumor models preferable.
