Postdoctoral Researcher - IRACDA
Postdoctoral Research positions are available through the NIH-Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award (IRACDA) program. This comprehensive program offers three years of support to outstanding candidates seeking postdoctoral research training along with an opportunity to obtain mentored teaching experience in a four-year tribal college in preparation for an academic career. Postdoctoral research training is provided under the guidance of one of the faculty mentors listed on the IRACDA website, who represent a broad range of disciplines including organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology/ toxicology, chemical biology, biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology, genetics, and evolutionary biology. The program is administered through the Office for Diversity in Science Training at the University of Kansas and is partnered with Haskell Indian Nations University, a local Bureau of Indian Affairs university.
65 percent - Conduct research in scientific areas consistent with general research areas of the chosen faculty mentor full-time in years 1 and 3, part-time in year 2 of the program.
15 percent - Mentored undergraduate teaching at Haskell Indian Nations University in year 2 of the program.
15 percent Data analysis, record keeping and reporting.
5 percent - General laboratory responsibilities.
