Responsibilities

A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, WA. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Matthias Stephan (http://stephanlab-fhcrc.squarespace.com) to explore the fast-developing and highly interdisciplinary field of immunobioengineering.

 

Using next-generation immunomodulatory synthetic materials, the postdoctoral fellow will develop new approaches to therapeutically manipulate the immune system against cancer (Nature Nanotechnology, April 17 2017, Journal of Clinical Investigation, April 24, 2017, Nature Communications, August 30, 2017).

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related field with demonstrated expertise working in biomaterials and immunology. Qualified applicants must have experience working successfully in a team setting, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong publication record.

Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated expertise using various biomedical imaging modalities, RNA seq, and flow cytometry. We seek highly self-motivated individuals with the appropriate skillset.
