Tenure Track Faculty Positions in the Burn and Shock Trauma Research Institute

The Burn and Shock Trauma Research Institute at Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine is recruiting two tenure track faculty.  We encourage applications from both basic and clinician scientists, and both junior and senior level faculty are invited to apply.

The BSTRI falls under the Department of Surgery and is located in the state-of-the-art Center for Translational Research and Education (https://www.luc.edu/ctre).  We have a highly collaborative faculty with strong federally-funded research programs in the area of burns, trauma, sepsis, alcohol, and wound healing. In addition, we have two T32 grants funded by NIAAA and NIGMS via which we have trained the next generation of basic and physician scientists over the last 20 years.

Candidates are expected to maintain an independent, externally-funded research program in the area of tissue injury, immune and inflammation in response to burn/trauma/sepsis/alcohol exposure, and contribute to graduate and medical education.

This is a 12-month faculty appointment and the rank/tenure will be commensurate with qualifications. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., D.O., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent and postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record. Established investigators should have a strong history of research productivity and extramural support. Clinically active investigators with 50% commitments to research are encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should submit applications including a curriculum vitae, a statement of accomplishments and future priorities in research, and a brief statement on their commitment to teaching and student mentorship. The candidate should also provide the names and contact information of three individuals who have agreed to provide letters of reference. We are actively reviewing applications, and will continue to accept new applications until the positions are filled.
