Faculty Appointment in Pharmacology

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks to recruit a position as part of an ongoing Center of Biomedical Research Excellence grant in Redox Regulation and Signaling (https://education.musc.edu/colleges/medicine/departments/pharmacology/redox-center). Candidates must have an interest in a biological discipline with redox foci(disease agnostic), but not yet have received RO1 support. Candidates withexperience in mass spectrometry-based technologies and proteomics, particularly as
related to redox processes, are encouraged to apply. A start up package willprovide the basis for establishing an independent research program.

Extramural research funding awards to MUSC in fiscal year 2018 exceeded $276million, reflecting continued growth in the research enterprise, including NCI designated cancer center, an NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award and major regional and national partnerships. Two new research buildings in Drug Discovery, Bioengineering and Cancer Genomics opened in 2011. The applicant will join four established investigators in the MUSC Proteomics Center or in the COBRE.

Located on the Atlantic coast in South Carolina, Charleston boasts one of the nation's most historic downtown areas, beaches and other outdoor recreational resources, and international cultural events such as the Spoleto Festival USA.
