Postdoctoral Research Position: Focus on Immunotherapy of Leukemia

Newly funded postdoctoral position is available for highly motivated individuals interested in immunotherapy of hematologic malignancies. Central to this laboratory’s mission is an in-depth exploration of the basic mechanisms of immune response with a focus on direct clinical application. Position requires experience in techniques of cellular immunology, multicolor flow cytometry, molecular biology, bioinformatics and advanced data analysis. The candidates will utilize systems biology to explore mechanism of T cell dysfunction and immune evasion in leukemia using human samples and animal models.

The long-term goal for the post-doctoral fellow is to generate several high-impact manuscripts and competitively apply for extramural funding towards the goal of an independent research career. Position can be tailored for physician-scientist with interest in immunotherapy of leukemia's. Our work is published in leading journals and we are part of a large and vibrant cancer immunology and immunotherapy research community at Johns Hopkins.

Qualifications: Recent PhD and/or MD (equivalent degree or DVM) with strong interests in both mechanistic and translational aspects of work. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment. The project involves using state-of-the-art technologies including 14-18 color flow cytometry and next generation sequencing. Enthusiasm for science, effective communication skills, self-motivation, and record of publication is also required. The lab takes a team science approach, so being a good team player is important as well.
